Bow whenever necessary and during these times:
When you enter or leave the dojo, to greet teachers/master, to greet blackbelts, to greet other students, to the sensei before and at the end of every class, before stepping on or off the deck, to your opponent before and after a match, to referee after receiving a point or a caution, to judges before you enter the deck and when you get to your place to perform kata.
04
Personal Appearance
Wear a clean uniform (belt can stay dirty to show hard work). Keep finger and toe nails short. Take off all jewelry and watches. Eyeglasses may only be worn during practice, not matches. Women and girls may wear white t-shirts under their uniform. Long hair may be tied back.
05
Kneeling and Rising
Step back with left leg, kneel on left knee besides the right foot. Bring right knee down next to left knee. Cross ankles in the back of you. Sit on your heels. Do not touch the ground at any point.
Bow while kneeling by placing both hands, palms down, in front of knees and pointed slightly towards each other.
Rise smoothly, precisely and gracefully following step in reverse order.
